Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, also popularly called as Tulip Garden, is the largest tulip garden in Asia, which is spreads over an area of 29.6 acres. This sprawling garden was conceived, conceptualized and created in the year of 2006- 2007. It is situated in Sirajbagh, Chashmashahi on the foothills of Zabarwan Mountain ranges with an overview of picturesque Dal Lake. About 20 lakh flowers with hundreds varieties of tulip adorns the sprawling land of the garden. The magnificent beauty of wide spectrum of colorful tulip flowers can easily unwind and enthralled any tourist. It fascinates large number of tourists when the perennial flower blooms in the month of March, April and May. Tulips GardenThe floriculture department of J&K government organizes Tulip festival in late March and April every year when tulips are in full bloom. This is considered to be one of the biggest events in Srinagar. Tourists from across the globe, throng the city to witness hundreds of thousands varieties of tulip. The festival also features cultural programs on Kashmiri folk songs, exhibition cum sale of local handicrafts and traditional Kashmiri cuisines.
