PEER BUDHAN ALI- JAMMU

Peer Budhan Ali Shah or Peer Budhan as it also known by this name, is world famous Muslim shrine in Jammu region. According popular belief, it protects the city from mishaps and evil spirits. The dargah is situated at Satwari area just adjacent to Jammu airport. This popular shrine is dedicated to Baba Budhan Ali Shah and also closely associated with two Sikh Gurus: Guru Nanak Ji and Guru Hargobind Ji. Huge numbers of pilgrims come to seek the blessings of Peer Baba on every Thursday. In spite of being the shrine of a Muslim Sufi saint, numbers of Hindu and Sikh devotees are far greater than the Muslims. On the occasion of annual Urs one during first Thursday of Ashad and other in middle of Pousha, thousands of devotees throng the shrine from far off places.
