SHRINE OF PEER DASTAGIR- SRINAGAR

The Shrine of Peer Dastagir, popularly known as Dastagir, is located in Khanyar, the heart of old Srinagar, a mile from Dal Gate. It was built to commemorate Sufi Saint Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani. No other shrine can be compared with this shrine in terms of interior designs. The unique interior donned with Papier mache scroll work, beautiful motifs, elegant chandelier and Arabic scripture make it a wonderful place to visit. Apart from having exquisite interior designs, it also houses sacred relics of some of the internationally renowned Islamic figures. Both devotees and tourists visit the shrine to witness this beautiful shrine. Interestingly, women can also enter into this place and photographs of interior design can also be taken with the permission of attendants.
