KHARDUNG LA PASS

Khardungla

Khanrdung La is a high mountain pass in the region of Ladakh of Jammu and Kashmir. The pass situated 39 km by road from Leh town at an elevation of 5,602 meters (18,379 feet). It is said to be world’s highest motorable pass and the gateway to the Nubra valley, Shyok Valley and Siachin Glacier. This pass was opened for motor vehicle in 1988 and since then, pass has been one of the favorite destinations for mountain expedition by motor bikes and mountain cycles. Tourists need to carry Inner Line permits to enter into the Khardug La Pass.
