KRISHNASAR LAKE

Krishnasar Lake is an alpine high altitude lake located at a height of 3801 meters in the vicinity of Sonmarg. The length of the lake is 0.95 km and its maximum width is 0.6 km. This crystal clear water lake is surrounded by dense alpine forest and it freezes during the winter months. Tourists can reach the lake via Nichnai Pass and experience cool and pleasant climate even in summer. The Krishnasar Lake is home to brown trout and it is famous for trout fishing activities. The month of June to September is the best time to visit the lake.
