“This is to inform that we returned from our Kashmir trip with full satisfaction. The 6 nights/7 days trip you planned for us was perfect in all respect, the hotels were nice, people we met were always smiling, ready to help and co-operative, the places we covered were beautiful and perfect for vacation. We spent the first night at houseboat on Dal lake and took the Shikara ride in the evening, we fully enjoyed the stay and the ride and did some shopping during the Shikara ride, the shops were accessible from the lake.”
You will be glad to know that we travelled to Sinthon Top from Pahalgam after visiting Chandanwari and Betab valley. Sinthon Top is located at 12000 ft, little known by tourists but it offers a breathtaking view of the Himalayas. I would recommend to take local driver from Pahalgam since the road is often difficult to drive and accidents/deaths occurred with outside drivers. The trip to Sinthon Top is expensive but worth for adventurous people.
The Gulmarg trip was eventful, the journey from Pahalgam to Gulmarg was affected by flood from heavy rain. However the driver Umar who was assigned by Kashmir Mart recommended us to leave early in the morning, the highway was under water but he drove through local villages and we reached Gulmarg despite heavy traffic in time to take the horse ride in the afternoon. It was for the wise decision of the driver that we could make the day successful. Next day we took the Gondola and reached Aparwath to take a view of the LOC.
However the best was yet to come. The Sonmarg trip was the best of all. The natural beauty of Sonmarg is awesome, different from other areas. We took the horse ride to Thajiwas Glacier through beautiful nature for about 45 minutes. The ride is quite up and down along the hilly area and is enjoyable for the whole family. There are several spots along the way where shooting of some popular Hindi movies were done.
Concerning food of Kashmir, please note that Dana Pani at Pahalgam is good but it is vegetarian, I would recommend non-veg people to try Paradise restaurant at Pahalgam. However the best non vegetarian food we had at Mughal-Durbar at Srinagar which is not very far from Hotel Kaisar. I recommend to try Kashmiri Wazwan at this restaurant, it is expensive but half plate is sufficient for two people.
I enclose two photos from our trip, one at Sonmarg, the other one is the Sinthon Top.
Finally we thank you very much for the nice planning at an affordable price for the whole trip and would certainly recommend our friends and families to contact Kashmir Mart for visiting Kashmir.
Take care,
Nachiketa Nandy
