Centrally located Kishtwar Town is the biggest in Doda District. Situated on the banks of the Chenab, Kishtwar is very famous for its natural beauty, an unending list of religious places and political supremacy.

Standing tall at 1,634 feet or 530 meters, there are two bus stands in the town. There is a small aerodrome outside the town for emergencies. Zanskar is to the north, Himachal to its east, Doda/Bhaderwah to the south and Anantnag to the west of the Kishtwar Town.
