BABORE TEMPLE- UDHAMPUR
Babore Temples are the ruins of six temples within a radius of 1 km and the complex situated in Dhar road Babore near Manwal in Udhampur district, 50 km away from Udhampur City. Imposing structure of the temple has immense archeological importance with rich religious ancestry. At present, ruins of only three temples are in the state of recognizable. Of which, 2 are still used by the local residents for worship, which are dedicated to Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati.
Architectural structures of these temples bear striking resemblance with the temples built by King Lalitaditya in 8th century at Wangal in Kashmir. The stones, monolithic beams, pillars used for the construction are about 12 feet long, and their sculptures and carving are marvelous and imposing.
